“I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with people who are ready to make, live, and be the changes that must happen to live their best life. If you are ready, let’s get started!”

Here is my story, and how my style and approach to helping people evolved over time.

During my undergraduate experience, I loved the mental health rotation. I graduated from North Park College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 1980. My career counselor at the time recommended I seek a position at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago because the need to help patients in recovery from physical trauma was great, and there would be a great opportunity to grow all my skills as a nurse. It was during this first nursing position that I learned about the power of the mind body connection. My primary patients were those who had experienced spinal cord injuries, and head trauma from all kinds of accidents, as well as people recovering from a stroke.

I noticed that some of the people with the spinal cord injuries especially, would be readmitted multiple times for physical reasons. Why? Because they were not able, or ready to accept their new life as a paraplegic or quadriplegic, and did not have the mental, or emotional strength to adjust, and find the path to creating the best life possible within the life they were living now.

This position helped me understand that healing is not just about treating the physical body, and that without addressing, and healing the emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalance of any life experience, living your best life is almost impossible.

I wanted to help people heal from inside out, and so I began my new pathway to working in the mental health field.

I earned a Masters of Arts in Family and Community Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University in 1987 while working in inpatient, and outpatient settings with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, eating disorders, and substance use.

I graduated from Rush College of Nursing with a Master’s of Science in 1992, and earned my Certification as an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist – PMHCNS-BC, through the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 1994.

In 1999 I began learning, and became certified in a number of alternative modalities to help people heal from emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual imbalances, as well as support them in creating their best life while helping myself do the same.

Between 1992 to 2016, I developed and successfully managed two psychiatric home care programs in Chicago, became Licensed as a HeartMath® Provider, had a private practice as a transformation coach, author, speaker, teacher, and healer, and enjoyed being a clinical instructor to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) mental health nursing students.

For the past 8 years I have been providing psychiatric medication management in conjunction with wellness education, and tools for transformation to people who are ready, and willing to begin the process of making life changes for a changed life, and are primarily struggling with symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, and Mood Disorders.
